Small Biz Saturday is all the buzz right now.
And honestly, I never really got it until this year. Well, I mean, that would make sense since this is the first year when I’ve actually owned a small business.
It’s not that I didn’t value small businesses in the area, I just never realized how much buying from them really impacted the world around us. Too often we are caught up in the big box deals and overlook the “smaller” guys. But not this year, my friends. I am focused on doing as much holiday shopping as I can through small biz peeps!
And maybe it’s being in this world a little deeper now or paying more attention to the radio as I drive, but I feel like I can’t go more than a few hours (actually, more like minutes today!) without hearing or seeing something about it.
And I love it.
I love the sense of community that is gathering all of these owners together. It seemed like every other event being shared was a vendor show focused on small businesses… and they spanned across the whole Twin Cities.
Not only was this day a genius move on American Express’s part, it helped create a bond among entrepreneurs. Multiple events brining all different types of businesses together- well, it’s a beautiful thing!
And it just keeps growing, and growing, and growing.
Just imagine if this camaraderie lasted the other 364 days a year. As I’ve said before, we can’t do this whole biz thing alone and one of the best and most effective ways to grow your business is to team up with others who are right there with you.
So let’s stand together, buy from each other, and continue collaborating not only today, but for the rest of the year!
